Iver Ships audit in Breda

leftArrow leftArrow

At the end of June, the Breda Iver Ships team underwent a periodic audit by class society DNV-GL.
During three days, spread over two weeks, DNV-GL audited Italian, Gibraltar, Marshall Island and Dutch flag DOCs (Document of Compliance), as well as ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018. This was an annual endorsement, with all certificates due for renewal next year.

Being in the office over a two-week period, enabled the auditor to speak to both Team A and Team B members. Of course, we adhered strictly to all COVID-19 measures that are currently in force.

The outcome of the audit was impressive:

  • DOC: “0“ Non Conformities, “1” Observation and “3” Points for improvement;
  • ISO: “1” Observation.

We thank all colleagues on board and in the office staff for their input, cooperation and professionalism, which resulted in this excellent result. A special word of thanks to the QHSE Department, under the leadership of Erik Mather, who ensured a safe, efficient and successful audit in these challenging times.

A particular mention goes to the Crewing Department for receiving a positive remark from the auditor:

The challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic were well managed by the Crewing Department. The personal contact between Crewing Officers/Manager and seafarers enhances the understanding of both parties for each other’s concerns and challenges.”

We would also like to thank the DNV-GL auditor for this audit. His observations and valuable recommendations will allow us to further improve our processes and systems.
